![]() Originally posted by Agent Orange:Keep that on EGS where it belongs. You can also save downed teammates (or not lol) You can riposte INTO a heavy attack and you can move your swing around etc (not as much as chiv 1)Įdit 2: no brandi that i saw :( but spear was a good weapon tho.Įdit 3: throwing weapons is hilarious and very easy and very good chance of kill. I think people were using heavy attacks a lot to try and kill people quicker probably. everyone was using HEAVY attacks a helluva lot because more damage and you cant riposte/ counter them only parry/block (i could be wrong here someone will be along to tell me haha). If we get another 4 or 5 TO maps of the same standard at release i will be v happy. Only had 2 TO maps and 1 TD map but the maps were really good. Probably to help the console folk.Īrchers still op imo especially crossbows but bows as well tbh (shoot fast). You get a lot of on screen guidance ie whether you riposted / blocked / countered etc. It is an easier game initially than chiv 1. They need to sort the hit detection sometimes. Hardly saw any Alpha players at all (30+ rank) they were allowed some customization of their class (due to previous playing of chiv 2) HUGE amount of customization will be in the final release (at least as much as Mordhau i think) BUT we could not customize our character but we saw all the stuff we were unlocking when we ranked up each class. ![]() ![]() I am a bit concerned that all the melee classes play too similar but we will see with the final release. It does feel far less mobile though (maybe more realistic i guess) ie the movement of each class feels very similar but in saying that i did not play the fastest kinda backstabber class of the footman (they get +35% damage when backstabbing) everyone gets dodge which helps with footwork but you cant spam it as it has a 5 second cooldown or something. You still need your footwork exactly the same as chiv 1. You then have to rely on either your own health item (or team mate) (FLAG or Trumpet which heals you and allies) or find a bit of food and eat that.Ĭhiv 2 combat is about breaking down your opponent defence using different attacks (dodge/jab/kick/ counters/riposte/feints /tackle) So it does take more swings to kill than chiv 1. Though health does not regen a lot You get one bandage and thats it. But a lot of the time it will be multiple opponents so you need to use your stamina there. If you counter swings in a 1v1 it doesnt go down at all. I do think the game rewards aggressive attacking behaviour. ( i think damn my memory is getting bad lol) Also You can keep swinging even though your swings are getting parried. in Chiv 2 the 2nd person has to parry as well. In chiv if 2 people attk you at the same time and you parry and lmb back if the first person parries you then the 2nd person doesnt get hit. When you use held parry then riposte it will save your life will allowing you to attack vs those opponents. You would only use it if you are fighting 2 or 3 + and they are all coming at you at once. Held parry is not really useful in 1v1s as you can easily break it with a kick = free hit. Just my subjective opinion but Mordhau looks like a mod or the pretender and Chiv 2 LOOKS like the real deal. Graphics are proper AAA combat graphics.and if i compare them to Mordhau.Mordhau comes off a lot worse imo.even looking at the weapon models. Not legendary level like chiv 1 but i think you can use the original chiv voices as well. The servers were all packed to the rafters it was difficult getting on at times. (btw, this is still only a BETA, so please don't get too emotional) votekicking didn't seem to work properly colors feel too bright and without contrast in some maps lots of bugs overall, dissapearing weapons, etc. ![]() blocking overall seems too op (casual friendly maybe?) extremely laggy when servers were overloaded animations feel clunky and imprecise (apparently this is still being worked on) team battles are bigger and more intense (32v32) healing mechanics add to the strategy aspect of the game classes now each have different specs and special abbilities objectives are well designed and feel balanced getting burned obstructs your vision like it should you can pick up any weapon from the ground even if it's not your class you can pick any object in the map and fight with it or throw it environments look realistic and have lots of details can get very immersive with the right people feels and plays like a true successor despite introducing new mechanics still as fun as Chiv 1 (even more so tbh :) Comment bellow to add to this list, so the devs can have a good feedback from us. So I've played Chivalry 2 over the weekend and would like to share my opinion as a long time Chiv 1 player about what's good and what's bad.
